  1. NON-RESIDENT NEPALI ASSOCIATION (NRNA)INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
    1. Background of Organization:

    Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) a not-for-profit global organization of People of Nepali Origin and Nepali Citizens residing outside Nepal was established on 11 October, 2003 with the purpose of uniting and bringing together the Nepali Diaspora under one umbrella. The objective of NRNA is to protect and promote the interest of Nepali Diaspora in and outside Nepal, utilize their potentials and resources for the welfare of Nepal and the Nepalese, promote Nepal and Nepali business interests and maintain cordial relation with the outside world.

    NRNA has successfully spread its network in 86 countries and territories by establishing its National Coordination Council (NCC).  NRNA regularly organizes many events and programs in Nepal and different parts of the world.

    Global Conference 2023:

    NRNA is organizing its 11th NRN Global Conference and NRNA IGA on October 17-20, 2023 in Kathmandu, Nepal. The Global Conference creates a platform to bring together Nepali Diaspora and friends of Nepal from different countries to discuss on the major agenda of NRNs, as well as to address the challenges and opportunities for the Nepali diaspora and celebrate the achievements of the NRNA. The Conference also helps the diaspora members to keep abreast with the developments taking place in Nepal and evoke patriotic emotions among the Nepali Diaspora towards their motherland. As the part of Global conference series of programs and functions will be organized in Nepal.

    Hence, for organizing the Global Conference 2023 efficiently, NRNA is seeking interns/Consultant having following expertise and criteria. The scope of the job for such intern is also clearly mentioned below:

    Background and Objectives of Internship:

    The Communication Department Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the communication and reporting activities of the organization. The main responsibilities will involve conducting interviews, writing reports, and creating engaging feature articles. The intern will gain valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of communication and journalism, contributing to the organization’s visibility and communication efforts.

     

    1. Main Responsibilities:

    2.1 Reporting:

    • Assist in gathering information, data, and content for regular reports, and other communication materials.
    • Collaborate with team members to compile and organize data, ensuring accuracy and relevancy.

    2.2 Conduct Interview

    • Support to conduct interviews with the key stakeholders and subject matter experts.
    • Transform interview content into coherent and insightful written pieces, capturing key messages and perspectives.

    2.3 Feature Writing:

    • Develop compelling feature articles that highlight the organization’s initiatives, achievements, and impact.
    • Conduct research to gather relevant information and data to support the feature articles.
    1. Deliverables:
    • Regularly produce written reports based on the guidance notes and suggestions provided
    • Conduct a set of interviews within a specified time frame and present them in well-structured articles.
    • Create a defined number of feature articles showcasing various aspects of the organization’s work.
    1. Qualifications and Skills:
    • Graduation in journalism, mass communications, media, or a related field.
    • Strong writing skills in both English and Nepali with the ability to create clear, concise, and engaging content.
    • Good understanding of interview techniques and the ability to extract relevant information.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software.
    • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
    • Strong attention to details and commitment to producing high-quality work.
    1. Supervision and Support:

    The intern will report to Department Head of the Communication Department, who will provide technical guidance, feedback, and support throughout the internship period. Regular check-ins and performance evaluations will be conducted to ensure the intern’s professional growth and successful completion of tasks.

    1. Duration and Remuneration:

    The internship will last for 2 months and is paid, according to the organization’s policies. The intern will be expected to work 42 hours per week, with flexible consistent working hours.
