Message From President

Dear all,

Greetings!

Honoring the trust which all the members of NRNA have nevertheless seen fit to place in us, we owe the team a debt of sincere gratitude. We are deeply humbled by the support of everyone to have us provided a fair shake to contribute to the NRNA, the Nepali diaspora and Nepali society as the designated presidents of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) for 2023-25. We would like to express our appreciation towards everyone who aided to the successful conduction of the 11th Global Conference and IGA 2023. As the presidents, we ensure to do best to be voice of change and to maintain transparency and accountability.

The Non-Resident Nepali Association is promoting unity, harmony and mutual co-operation among the Nepalese living abroad by indulging in various professions and entrepreneurship, and is using and mobilizing their skills, technology and entrepreneurship for development of Nepal and our communities. The Non- Resident Nepali Association has helped to spread the original culture and goodwill of Nepal to the world by promoting the Nepali Language, culture, tradition, artwork and literature abroad and will continue to do so. It is participating in the country’s prosperity with the capital investment, promotion of technology and business knowledge, skills and abilities acquired abroad. The association has provided different humanitarian assistance in various disasters including the earthquake of 2072 by providing tangible comfort to building houses.

The citizenship-related queries which has constantly been raised by non-resident Nepalese is now focused on being acknowledged, which will facilitate the movement of Nepalese, protect their property and help them continue their socio-cultural connections with Nepal. For this, it is necessary for everyone to work together.

Currently, the Non-Resident Nepalese Association is discussing and working on various issues, among which the core issue are the provision of citizenship, voting rights as well as the implementation of the Social Security Fund for the future of Nepalese who are employed abroad.

The eminent motto of our association “For Nepali by Nepali” is a good example of a popular saying,” To serve the sons of the Mother is to serve the Mother'”. Our greatest duty towards the Motherland being creating a national consciousness among the people, we should unite and strengthen the country by sticking to grass root work and make use of the wide international networking that we have at our disposal. To think of the prosperity of the Motherland is to think of our own prosperity.

Development is about growth and helping to grow different aspects, as together they create further growth. Development is vital in today’s society as it affects every aspect in everyday life. The goal of the NRNA is the overall development of our motherland Nepal. Throughout these 2 years, various development programmes have been planned on the behalf of our committee.

This is to mention that as per the change of time, not only have the problems changed, but the way in which problems are addressed has changed as well. We would also like to address our sincere thanks and appreciation to the honorable former president and the team for staying true to the values even under challenging circumstances. We would also like to address all the nominees as without the commitment, creativity and hard work of every single one, it would not have been possible to pivot with flexibility and compassion to complete the elections and initiatives being undertaken.

There is a famous saying that goes, “Remember upon the conduct of each depends the fate of all”, which tells us the fact that we are all interconnected and we can only deny this fact for so long until we cannot anymore.

No matter which part of the world we reside in for what time period, we will always be Nepalese by heart. Because, “Yo Man ta Hamro Nepali Ho”.

Dr. Badri KC

President
