Background of the Project:

The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) represents the global Nepali diaspora and works for the welfare of Nepali migrants and Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs) in various countries of destination (CoDs). Labor migration is one of NRNA’s core priority areas; volunteers across CoDs collaborate with Nepali diplomatic missions to support migrants. With a presence in around 90 countries, NRNA serves as a trusted partner of the Government of Nepal and a reliable network for migrant support.

Despite strong commitment, NRNA faces financial and resource limitations as a volunteer-based organization. Building on the successful collaboration during COVID-19 under the first phase of the ILO Migrant Rights and Descent Work (MiRiDeW ) Project, NRNA seeks to continue this partnership in the second phase to further enhance migrant support systems and institutional sustainability.

  • To enhance the lobbying and advocacy on labor migration policies with relevant stakeholders.
  • To increase the awareness of mental health issues among Nepali migrants in CoDs.
