First Global Diaspora Week

Dear Leaders and Representatives of Diaspora Organization,

We are delighted to introduce to you the Global Diaspora Confederation (GDC). We are the world’s largest diaspora-led civil society organization for Diaspora Organizations. We connect Diaspora Organizations from across the world to support, develop and promote global diaspora as a whole.

We are hosting our first Global Diaspora Week scheduled from 12th to 18th December 2021. This virtual event will present diaspora related, engaging discussions aiming to actualise the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. Not only will Global Diaspora Week feature keynote speakers from the United Nations, but many Diaspora Organizations across six continents. We are happy to host you; it is free to sign-up for and attend all events during Global Diaspora Week.

To ensure we are carrying out the most impactful work possible and delivering this to the widest range of Diaspora Organizations (DOs), we would be very appreciative if you would also share this information with fellow colleagues in other DOs within your network.The Global Diaspora Week will begin with an Open Ceremony and end with Global Diaspora Assembly. As both events are global, they may not be hosted at your preferred time. Therefore, by signing up now, we will be able to celebrate your attendance and also your support for the global diaspora when we publish a list of supportive Diaspora Organizations across six continents during the Global Diaspora Week.

During the Global Diaspora Week, we will be hosting one High-Level Consultation Meeting for each of the six continents, where leaders of Diaspora Organizations meet and share experiences. We highly recommend you to participate, as your sharing in these meetings will help shape how GDC could work with you going forward.
